Request for Snacks

During Language Arts I hand out a mid-morning Snack to maintain the stamina of my

Fantastic Readers!

At the beginning of the school year I received many snacks from many wonderful parents - Thank you!

My fantastic first graders are in need of more snacks :)

If you are able please send in a snack to share.

Some ideas for snacks would include:

Crackers

Pretzels

Raisins

Cereal

Economics in First Grade!

First Grade is having so much fun learning about Economics!

Check our classroom blog for the Youtube Videos we are watching this month produced by "Cha Ching".  They include:

1.  Saving

2.  Spending

3.  Donating

4.  Earning

5.  What do you want to be when you grow up?

We are learning about supply and demand and will put what we know to the test at our 

CLASSROOM MARKET 

on

Thursday, Feb. 19th 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Your student has created a product and will be selling that product at the CLASSROOM MARKET.

They have gone through the following process:

1.  Naming a Product

2.  Drawing the Product

3.  Naming a Store to sell the Product

4.  Production of the product (with the help of their classmates during mini-courses)

5.  Pricing the Product

FINALLY.......

6.  Selling the product

They will be responding the laws of supply and demand as they sell their product.  If their product gains popularity at the market they will be allowed to raise their price.  If they are not selling many of their product they will respond by lowering their product.

Please talk to your children about Economics!
