Back-to-School Welcome Letter

Welcome to First Grade!
FIRST GRADE IS FANTASTIC

Welcome to first grade at Arches Academy!  I am so thrilled to be your child’s teacher and I know this will be an awesome year!  A quick introduction; my name is Dawn McNiel but your children will know me as Ms.M&M (yes, I do love M&M’s). I graduated from Wilmington University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education K-6 with a minor in Special Education. I am currently earning my Masters Degree. I love going to school and putting fresh new approaches into practice in the classroom!

For your child’s journey to be successful, it is essential for me to understand that each child is a unique individual with special qualities and needs.  With the support of students and families, we will create a classroom environment that will recognize and respect individuality. To support each student’s learning, I will create a classroom that offers a variety of meaningful teaching styles so that each child will have the opportunity to succeed. The children will grow and learn at their own rate. I invite you to play an active role in your child’s education by talking with your child each day about their learning, reading together every night, and communicating with me.

Please visit my virtual classroom at www.fantasticfirstgradersatarches.blogspot.com  to view the fun and exciting lessons you will learn about in Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Leader in Me, and Mini Courses.

I hope you had a fantastic summer and you are ready to be a fantastic first grader at Arches Academy!

MISSING GUIDED READING BOOKS

ATTENTION PARENTS

MISSING GUIDED READING BOOKS

Would you please check your libraries at home and for any ARCHES GUIDED READING BOOKS?

We are missing many of our books and in organizing for next year we are attempting to find all of our missing books.

The books would be covered with laminate, labeled with ARCHES ACADEMY's name, and/or have a level written in the back of the book.

IF YOU FIND ANY ARCHES BOOKS I would be happy to pick them up at your home or you can bring them to Arches during summer business hours.

THANK YOU FOR LOOKING!
