Letter Pocket Project-Due 1/5

Pockets Full of FUN in First Grade!

This year has been so fun!  The children have been busy at work writing and writing and writing.  We just started a new unit on
FRIENDLY LETTER WRITING

Our Mailbox is now open in the classroom and the students are having so much fun writing letters to each other.
We have mail call everyday! :)
I've told them they can write to anyone in the world and I will deliver it. So far I have 12 letters to Santa and one to The President of the United States......which I will deliver.

Mail call will end and we will start to use our
LETTER POCKETS
starting January 5th.

I am sending home the LETTER POCKETS (blank and undecorated) with your child.  Please decorate and return them by
Monday, January 5th.
The LETTER POCKETS will hang in the hallway for the rest of the school year. When letters are written to your child they will receive them in their LETTER POCKET.  Please ask your child to take their time and do their very best work :).

Your child will receive mail every week in their LETTER POCKET.  It is my hope this will provide a meaningful authentic writing experience and motivate those students who wouldn't otherwise write on a regular basis.

WRITING IS FUN!
Getting mail is even more fun!
